The organization exceeded its $200,000 objective to upgrade its website, visited by millions of Quebecers each year.

Montreal, April 10, 2018 – Éducaloi recently wrapped up its fifth annual fundraising campaign, which brought in close to $223,000 in net proceeds. Over 400 distinguished guests, among them prominent figures from the legal and business communities, gathered on March 22 at Le Parquet of the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec. Several athletes, including Olympic and Paralympic medalists, also attended the Olympic-themed event.

Quebec Justice Minister Stéphanie Vallée and the Honourable Marie Deschamps, Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors, underscored the importance of Éducaloi’s efforts. They described the value of the team’s work in the field, especially with organizations providing assistance to the most vulnerable groups in society. They also recognized the efforts of teachers and volunteer legal professionals who help our youth develop the appropriate reflexes and legal capabilities.

We are grateful for your support. We now have the funding we need to plan and implement this ambitious and essential projectupgrading our website–and continue to provide services to the millions of Quebecers who use it,” said Me Ariane Charbonneau, Executive Director of Éducaloi. “Our users are increasingly connected to their mobile devices, and we must offer the legal content they need, when they need it, on their cellphones. Thank you for helping us achieve our objective.”

Me Marc Tremblay, a member of the Ambassadors Committee since 2015, is extremely pleased with the result. Québecor’s Senior Vice-President of Legal and Corporate Affairs and Corporate Secretary stated, “Éducaloi plays a unique and vital role in Quebec: providing quality, neutral and accessible legal information in everyday language. We all appreciate the excellent work they do.”

Headed by committee chair Me Marc-André Fabien, Ad. E., a senior partner of the firm Fasken Martineau and president of the Canadian Paralympic Committee, the 13 members of the Ambassadors Committee once again demonstrated that objectives can be reached and surpassed when people work together toward a common cause.
