High School Students Admitted to the Faculty of Law!
On May 7th, 170 high school students and their teachers spent the day at McGill University’s Faculty of Law. This event, organized by Éducaloi in collaboration with the Faculty, gave students a chance to attend a plenary session, workshops and talks on different legal topics.
Whether they were interested in information technology law, passionate about criminal law, intrigued by forensic medicine or curious to learn more about the daily challenges of children around the world, the students found workshops tailored to their interests.
The day began with a word of welcome from the chairman of Éducaloi’s board of directors, the Honourable Martin Cauchon, and ended with closing words from Shauna Van Praagh, Associate Dean for Graduate Studies at the Faculty and Daniel Jutras, Dean of the Faculty.
Dean Jutras asked the students what they thought of their day. The first comment: “It was really well organized.” (A boost for the organizers to say the least.) The second comment: “It made me realize that the law has a very practical and down-to-earth side.” (Heartwarming for the volunteer speakers!)
